Somebody very close to me and very important to me once wrote this in a letter. I came across it today while cleaning my room (yes I'm finally doing it) and thought I'd just share it.


"I find the beauty of friendship is actually in the imminent separation. it is the seeming frivolity of the relationships, that unspoken knowledge we admit yet feel hesitant to submit to.


It is the cause for friends to feel that natural urge to spend any conceivable minute together. To link arms, hold hands, mentally interlocking each other's lives physically. It is the cause for us to wittingly revert to our childish ways, to drop all pretenses and savor the moments we are able to conjure new memories in the short span of time we have as one.


The beauty in such friendships is the richness that exudes from the quality of the relationship. It is the friendship made by accident, formed with chemistry, built in love. These types of bonds do not fade away after goodbyes, nor do they degenerate in time. They can only grow each day, each month, each sparse moment you are able to meet again. With each conclusive goodbye, we are ending a stanza in our poem; and this poem will do nothing but tell of our tale, and ripen with age.


But as we lose touch and eventually stop conversing altogether, we may in time look back and reminisce over our youth and foolish ways. The nostalgia serves only to strengthen that forgotten thread - only forgotten, yet never disintegrated. However, to indulge in the past cannot do one much good. why delve in one beautiful memory when there are infinite more to be carved into your life's journey? This is where the beauty lies - the knowledge that whilst your life may not be in your control, the opportunity to fulfill multiple friendships throughout it, is.


And at the end of the road, when I am taken from the world, I can lie down and honestly know, "It's been a productive journey. I have no regrets now.""


:D I love you so much darling. x) You know who you are.. Thanks for all the love, support, encouragement, time, advice and so much more..thanks for always being there when I needed you. And here's to many years more of friendship (lest you eat me, as threatened). And I quote you: "what am I without you?"
