God's Clock
Last evening, people around the world were checking their watches and clocks to be ready when the new year came in. Thousands crammed into Times Square in New York City and millions watched ta home as the famous ball dropped and marked the start of 2009.
Revelers shouted, Christians prayed, and young people blew horns and danced to welcome in the new year. Many offered toasts, and everyone said, "Happy New Year!" to someone.
Time moves on relentlessly, bringing us joys and sorrows, heartaches and happiness, disappointments and victories - and another new year.
The computer tells me the time, as does my captain's desk clock. My truck hsa a digital clock in the dashboard. And I check the huge clock by the IMAX on my way home from work.
Clocks record man's time to the second. Many people have PDAs to help them plan their time and remember appointments. Many are uneasy until their schedule for the day or week is set, and they get cranky when it gets thrown off.
God's clock is different from ours. His timing often disrupts our schedule - in spirte of our best efforts to stay in control. Accepting His timetable is a tough part of spiritual maturity. Interruptions, delays, layoffs, changes, and accidents are part of life, and God is never surprised by any of them. An example of this truth is found in today's reading. Paul wanted to go to Rome but was prevented until the time was right (Romans 1:13).
You may have wonderful trips planned or special events lined up in 2009. They may not happen, but in the end you can be certain that God's timing is always perfect.

And an additional passage reading that well, really struck me.. was Ecc 11:5
As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you canot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.
:D Hope that kickstarts your new year as it did mine! Cheers
