Just her in the wind

So there she stood, clad in her baby pink nightgown with intricate stitches made down the sides, each one painstakingly and carefully sewn by hand, the patterns weaving into a beautiful font which read “love”. And as she stood there all alone, surrounded only by the sturdy old oak trees and the brown leaves which had fallen and made a pile on the ground around her, she closed her eyes and smiled in thought. Memories of the times spent with him came back to her like a breath of wind, blowing new life into both her and the leaves encircling her.


Stretching out her arms, in welcome of the wind, and inhaling deeply, she felt it move as she heard the rustle of leaves surround her as the wind lifted them off the ground, tossing them about in a circular fashion. As the wind flirted with the edges of her dress, she felt like she was in the middle of a mini windstorm, letting her thoughts whirl in it. It was to her, like she had transcended her physical limitations and was being elevated from the ground, carried by the wind.


The true hurricane, however, existed solely in her heart. It was a battlefield where the boundaries of good and bad dissolved into each other. This is now, or never, she pined in thought, the pangs of unrequited love pestering her. From friends, to lovers – was that how they were to end? She would leave that all to God, she had made her decision. Her life was completely surrendered into His caring and gentle hands.
